Bitumen Waterproofing Coating

LEAKSEAL®
BituLastic Waterproofing

A rubberised, water-based bitumen emulsion waterproofing coating that can be used with or without a reinforcing membrane to create a flexible, durable and fully bonded waterproofing system for roofs, joints and water-immersion areas.

LEAKSEAL® BituLastic Waterproofing is a one-component, rubberised bitumen emulsion coating designed for a wide range of exterior waterproofing applications. Applied by brush, roller or trowel, it cures to form a highly elastic, crack-bridging and water-resistant film suitable for both horizontal and vertical surfaces.

Features & Benefits

  • One-Component, Ready-to-Use System – Easy application by brush, roller or trowel.
  • Highly Elastic & Crack-Bridging – Adapts to movement and thermal stresses.
  • Flexible at Low Temperatures – Maintains performance in cold-weather conditions.
  • Excellent Sag Resistance – Suitable for vertical surface application.
  • Early Water Resistance – Supports reliable film formation in moisture-prone environments.
  • Resistant to Softening at High Temperatures (≈ 80°C) – Retains integrity under heat exposure.
  • Non-Toxic, Water-Based Bitumen Emulsion – Safer to apply and environmentally considerate.
  • Over-Coatable – Compatible with bitumen silver coatings or acrylic topcoats for finishing or reflectivity.

Intended Uses

LEAKSEAL® BituLastic Waterproofing is designed for multi-purpose liquid-applied waterproofing systems in residential, commercial and light-industrial environments.

The coating can be used with or without reinforcing membrane, allowing system design to be adapted to site conditions and performance requirements. It is suitable for use in flat roof waterproofing, parapet wall detailing, sealing joints and laps, roofing screw protection, under-tile applications and areas exposed to total water immersion such as ponds, gutters, dams and other water-retaining structures.

Typical applications include:

  • Flat roofs and parapet walls — liquid-applied waterproofing membranes
  • Sealing of joints, laps and roofing screws on profiled metal roofs
  • Under-tile waterproofing in exterior roof or wet-area construction
  • Gutters, ponds, dams and water-retaining structures exposed to full water immersion
  • Maintenance and refurbishment coatings for problem waterproofing areas
