What is DEGADUR® Methacrylate Resin Flooring?
DEGADUR® methacrylate resins are two component, highly reactive & solvent free systems for producing high quality flooring. They are used for the protection, strengthening & beautification of structures.
When selecting and specifying the most suitable type of flooring, whether the aim is to lay a new floor or renovate an existing one; not only functionality, conformity and appearance need to be considered, but also the time required to complete installation. DEGADUR® resins provide a truly tailor made floor coating solution.
Flooring systems manufactured with DEGADUR® synthetic resins are not only tough enough to withstand mechanical, thermal and chemical loads, they offer the additional benefit that coating work is rapidly performed and the new floor can be walked over & put to its customary use just a few hours later. This is the best way to avoid prolonged downtimes or lost sales due to interruptions in routine operations & business.
Resin systems based on DEGADUR® not only cure fast, they also enable processing & curing at temperatures down to minus 30°C. The balanced profile of DEGADUR® resins is rounded off by their excellent UV resistance.

Rapid Curing
DEGADUR® coatings can be exposed to chemical & mechanical loads about two hours after application. Only brief shutdowns & stoppages required when on the job. -
Curing At Low Temperatures
DEGADUR® coating systems can be applied at very low temperatures, and will cure completely even at temperatures as low as minus 30°C such as cold storage areas. -
Resistance To Weathering & Aging
DEGADUR® resins mainly consist of methacrylates. Once these have cured, they form plastics with extraordinary resistance to light and UV radiation, with a long service life. -
Inter Layer Adhesion
DEGADUR® systems can be applied to one another and allow a modular approach to floor design which can be tailored to project requirements. Damaged surfaces are easily repaired. -

DEGADUR® Systems - 4 Steps to Success
Areas of Application
Preparation - Remove all traces of old coatings
Priming - Apply primer to the clean, dry substrate using a squeegee and roller.
Body Coat/Base Coat - Apply the coating in the required layer thickness.
Body Coat/Base Coat - Broadcast the coating with quartz sand before it has completely cured.
Top Coat/Seal Coat - Apply the topcoat/ seal coat using a squeegee or roller.
The rapid curing means these layers can be applied without long interruptions or delays. Large projects in particluar (up to about 800 m²) can therefore be completed without having to drive to the site several times.
