Epoxy Iron Oxide Primer

Epoxy
Multi MIO HB

Epoxy Multi MIO HB is a premium two-component, high-build, polyamide-cured epoxy coating pigmented with Micaceous Iron Oxide (MIO) to provide outstanding corrosion protection in demanding industrial environments. Designed for use as both a primer and intercoat, the coating offers exceptional adhesion to steel, galvanised steel, aluminium, cast iron, GRP, stainless steel, concrete, and previously coated epoxy surfaces. The lamellar MIO pigment significantly reduces water vapour transmission, creating an effective barrier against corrosion while improving long-term durability in aggressive industrial and coastal atmospheres. Its excellent abrasion resistance, rapid drying, and extended overcoating capability make it an ideal workshop primer for fabricated steel, allowing components to be transported, stored, and erected before the final coating system is applied on site.

Intended Uses

Epoxy Multi MIO HB is developed for long-term corrosion protection of structural steel, fabricated components, process equipment, and concrete structures operating in industrial and coastal environments. The MIO pigmentation forms a dense overlapping barrier that significantly improves resistance to moisture penetration while enhancing the durability of complete protective coating systems. It is particularly suited to structural steel fabrication, petrochemical plants, chemical processing facilities, pulp and paper mills, mining operations, power generation plants, and infrastructure projects where fabricated steel may require extended storage or transport before final topcoating. Its ability to adhere to a wide range of substrates also makes it an excellent maintenance primer for refurbishment projects.
