Epoxy coatings are generally two-component systems in which epoxy resins react with a curing agent to form a hard, strongly adherent and durable protective film. A wide range of epoxy formulations and curing technologies are available, allowing coating performance to be adapted to different substrates, application conditions and service environments. Epoxies are extensively used on steel and concrete and can function as primers, intermediate coats, high-build protective coatings and linings within multi-coat systems designed for demanding industrial exposure.
