POLYURETHANE High Strength SF Slow Set
A solvent-free, elastic aromatic polyurethane coating that forms a thick, tough, flexible protective layer with outstanding abrasion, impact, chemical and water resistance for metal, concrete and wood substrates.
ArmourCoat® Polyurethane High Strength SF Slow Set is a two-component, solvent-free, thixotropic aromatic polyurethane coating designed to create a resilient, high-build elastomeric membrane on metal, concrete and wood surfaces. The system provides excellent adhesion, mechanical strength and flexibility, delivering long-term resistance to abrasion, impact, vibration, water and chemicals in aggressive operating environments.

Note: As an aromatic polyurethane, exterior UV exposure requires an aliphatic polyurethane topcoat for colour and weather resistance.
Intended Uses
ArmourCoat® Polyurethane High Strength SF Slow Set is designed for heavy-duty protective coating, vibration damping and waterproofing applications across industrial, commercial and transport environments.
Applied at 1.5–2.0 mm per layer using V-notch trowels, the coating forms a durable, non-slip and shock-absorbing surface, making it suitable for both industrial protection and functional lining applications. When exposed to UV, the coating should be over-coated with an aliphatic polyurethane topcoat (such as PU 55 HB Topcoat) to ensure colour and weather stability.
Compatible (with correct primer system) with:
- Steel, concrete, wood, asphalt and polystyrene substrates
Typical applications include:
- Bakkie / truck bed linings — durable, non-slip protective coating
- Anti-drumming and anti-vibration coating for metal and sheet-metal structures
- Waterproofing of horizontal surfaces against liquid ingress
- High-wear industrial floors and surfaces exposed to abrasion and impact
- Protective coating for steel, concrete and wood substrates in aggressive environments
The coating provides a tough, resilient and elastic protective membrane with excellent adhesion and long-term durability, especially where thick-build mechanical protection is required.
