Water Based Silicone Masonry Primer. A one component, water-based silicone silane siloxane emulsion primer for impregnating and priming, protection and consolidating of masonry surfaces.

Intended Uses
Once applied, a chemical reaction with the mineral substrate takes place converting the emulsion into a silicone resin water repellent, thus reducing the capillary absorption of the building which has been penetrated without clogging pores or capillaries. There is therefore little or no impairment of the building materials ability to breathe. SpecSil® Primer Breathable is resistant to alkalis and has a rapid development of water repellency.
Designed for used with SpecSil Silicone Resin Paints & Plasters, Emulsion paints and plasters and breathable coatings where breathability is of utmost importance. Also, an excellent water repellent for many absorbent mineral substrates.
Suitable substrates:
- Brickwork
- Building materials made of clay
- Aerated concrete
- Sand lime brickwork
- Cement fibreboards
- Lightweight aggregate
- Mineral plasters
Not suitable for less absorbent, dense natural stone, especially limestone, marble and reinforced concrete for bridges and roads.
