Sanding Sealer

NC WOODLAK® Sanding Sealer is a one-component, solvent-based modified nitrocellulose transparent isolation and sanding sealer for wood, veneer and MDF. It seals wood fibres, reduces absorption of subsequent coatings and can be built in multiple coats to fill the grain, providing a smooth, easily sanded surface ready for topcoating.

Intended Uses

NC WOODLAK® Sanding Sealer is intended as a transparent preparation and isolation coat for veneer, solid wood and MDF surfaces before application of the final lacquer system.

Its primary function is to seal wood fibres and reduce the absorption of subsequent coatings into the substrate. When applied in multiple coats, it progressively fills the wood grain to create a smoother and more uniform surface before topcoating.

The rapid curing and easy-sanding characteristics make it particularly suitable for furniture production environments where components need to move efficiently through the sealing → sanding → topcoating stages.

Applying the sanding sealer as the first coat also reduces the sanding required on subsequent coating layers, helping streamline the overall finishing process.
