Filler Primer

NC WOODLAK® Filler Primer is a one-component, solvent-based modified nitrocellulose filler primer designed for MDF, wood and veneered timber. Its high-build, fast-drying formulation combines excellent sealing and filling properties with easy, clog-free sanding to create a smooth, uniform surface ready for subsequent lacquer systems.

Intended Uses

NC WOODLAK® Filler Primer is intended as a pigmented, high-viscosity primer and filler coat for MDF, solid wood and veneered timber used in interior wood and furniture finishing.

The product performs several important preparation functions in one coating: it seals and primes porous substrates, builds and levels the surface, dries rapidly and sands easily before the application of the final lacquer system.

Once prepared, it provides a smooth substrate suitable for topcoating with:

  • Acid-catalysed lacquers
  • Polyurethane lacquers
  • Water-based lacquers

Its high-build and thixotropic characteristics make it particularly useful for MDF edge sealing, where the highly porous cut edges of the board typically require greater filling and sealing than the face.

The combination of high build, strong sealing and easy sanding makes the product particularly useful for manufactured MDF furniture components where a smooth pigmented lacquer finish is required.
