Surtol Aluminium HS
Solvent based, ultra-high solids, surface tolerant epoxy mastic. A two component, high solids, modified epoxy mastic coating containing aluminium flake and corrosive inhibiting pigments – surface tolerant.

- Good adhesion to multiple substrates such as steel, cast iron, galvanized steel, aluminium, GRP, stainless steel, and aged epoxies

- For application onto a wide variety of substrates including hand prepared rusty steel, abrasive blast cleaned and hydro-blasted steel, and a wide range of intact aged coatings
- Applied in heavy coat (125µm-150 DFT per application), as a high build primer which can be over-coated or as a highly effective primer/topcoat system (2 coats at 125-150µm DFT per coat)
- Exhibits good physical properties such as adhesion to steel and impact resistance
- Resistant to humidity, saltwater immersion and exterior exposure conditions
- Can be over-coated by a variety of topcoats, such as epoxies, polyurethanes, alkyds & acrylics
Intended Uses
A high performance, high solids, epoxy aluminium formulation that is surface tolerant i.e. which can be applied to hand prepared surfaces as a self-priming high build coating with excellent adhesion to rusted steel and most aged paints. Only a single coat required for most applications.
Provides excellent anti-corrosive protection in industrial, coastal structures, pulp and paper plants, bridges, and offshore environments in both atmospheric exposure and immersion service.
